I once challenged myself to do one of these, and failed miserably, not because it looked like nothing, the steering part was completed, but then the laziness and lack of motivation kicked in. It takes some special paper and no social life to do this, I spent hours on small parts.
I challenge anybody to do this and make it resemble to what the assembled model looks like. It’s a nice promotional campaign from Yamaha, you can either print colored or black and white parts if price is a problem. More models after the break.
The TMAX is a scooter like motorcycle, pdf files on their site.

Some American Yamaha DSC11 which stands for Dragstar Classic Eleven, whatever that is. The model is one of the coolest and looks like some modernized steampunk machine. Files over here.

The MT-01 is the most difficult as it’s the most detailed, it’s is in 5 parts: the engine, rear arm and frame, steering and tank, exhaust pipe and front and rear tires. It takes an enlightened Buddhist to do that. Here’s the link to the pdf files you can print out.

You can browse for more models on their main page: http://www.yamaha-motor.co.jp/global/entertainment/papercraft/index.html

Which model did you start off with?
I’m thinking of starting with the SR400 as it was the on ei had and also because it seems the easiest.
I went straight to MT-01, the steering part was complete, but it took so long that I got bored of it.
Sick stuff!! will you show how to make a Butterfly Ball?
What’s a Butterfly Ball?
its a ball made from like 24 waterbombbases i think, but you don’t have to make a videos on how to make it. It’s a video on youtube that shows it hehe
I’ve actually seen it a long time ago, but it seemed too simple. Here’s a direct link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNyS3h6FcZw , thanks castword.

Dude… that’s amazing. I think I would never have this patience and motivation. Great job!
Nice job aaron =)
I was almost done I just need help on teh wheels =.=
Me o_o - Yeah the wheels are the trickiest. Mine did’nt come out so good and i didn’t have the patience to do them again.
You’ve got to start from the innermost rim and work your way to the outer tread.
I started with the R1 (YZF-R1) I won’t say it was perfect but it was alright. To make it worse, I just printed it on 40GSM A4 on a b&w printer and pasted varnish paper for the colors!

Good job Viraj, I also made a b&w for my first try as I wasn’t sure I was able to make it. It looks very good.
Just started on the MT-1. Wish me luck:) I guess it helps if you love bikes as well as having the patience and skill to pull this off. Will let ya’ll know when it’s done, probably in two months or so…:D
u made that?
the R1? yes, it’s sitting on my desk now. MT1? not yet. Finsished the engine and the frame, currently working on the rear arm. It takes a lot more time than the R1 :S
So I guess I’m in a position to say I’m successful in accepting your challenge up there..well..almost…I gotta pause this for a while cos I got an exam comin up and damn someday I’m gonna get a colour laser printer :P
Here’s the progress

@Viraj: So how many hours did it took?
hey karl i actually started the motorcycle rite now im cutting them out….
Well, I didn’t keep count, but I guess it was around 80 or 90 hours. btw, cuckoo, it helps if you start with the frame first and build around it. It’s just psychological, that helped me keep my motivation up when I see the actual bike emerging. But study the instructions well before attaching any major components or you’ll end up tearing it apart to fix something you build later on. Good luck:)
Wow, viraj thats a great job. I gave up after the engine as i had my exams. I admire your perseverance.
virag my cousin printed this out for me cuz he saw that i was a very good origamist. so i told him i wanted to make it so he printed the engine out first.
but btw im doing a good job :)
I thought about making one this summer, but I wanted to make other models as well, plus I still have to make my 555 Phizz unit torus and my sonobe soma cube.
