Following a request here’s a squishy blob, sure to drive your teachers nuts. It’s an action model since it acts like a trampoline when you poke it on the top square. A complicated, but not so difficult origami by Jeremy Shafer, according to whom its primary function is finger exercising. Diagrams straight from the authors website and the video and an additional picture after the break.
Also from now on I’m going to upload my videos to Metacafe, having to speed up my videos to keep them under 10 minutes (youtube limit) not only annoys me, but all those who watch them. So if you wish to stay informed about the new videos you can either subscribe to the RSS of this blog or at Metacafe.

lol
Love that action model:P
Did you manage to make the “spring into action”?:-)
I got to the 2nd level, but it got so crumpled that I can’t fold it anymore… I don’t want to use glue to attach both sides, very frustrating because it looks easy.
Yeah I know what you mean, but I found a video on youtube that shows the collapsing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10zyL1YY2rk
It was a little fast done, but I think it would help a little
Great model thank you! thank you! thank you!! :-))

Here is another nice picture of this model -

Hi, Thank you so much for this video! :-) It’s so cute!
I posted 2 questions on your “Lesser stellar dodecahedron” page, if you can answer maybe….
It will be great if you could also do the “Balancing Eagle” I do like to know how to do it :-(
Here is the model diagram -

Thanks again for the Trampoline video it’s just amazing!
The eagle looks is bit hard, the last one I made was so small that I couldn’t fold it anymore, I’ll try again sometimes, but I guarantee nothing.
Also it’s better to ask for requests via e-mail and let the comments be on the actual subject.
You do not need to inform me of the questions you ask under the other models, I receive notifications of them anyway.
OK thanks :-) there are so many videos here I wasn’t sure if you will notice a new comment for a video :-)
You right I sould do that by Email.
(I sent this request under several videos on YouTube, so if by mistake I also sent it under your videos then I’m sorry)
You know what, forget about the Balancing Eagle, I thought about it, and I can just cut in from a paper and do it as a regular model, not as an origami, this way I can also make it larger.
But thanks anyway for trying to do it :-)
And thanks for the amazing Trampoline! :-))
when you made youtube videos, you could’ve set your account as a director, so then you could have as long vids as you wanted to.
@lizzieluvs_u: I did what you suggested, now I must wait for the staff to approve my candidature, I’ll upload all the videos that are at MC to YT too.
i tried the squishy blob and if you squish it and wear it a little it jiggles and vibrates. i liked it so much i named it Fred.
i tried the balancing eagle. it was a crumpled thing and ballanced upside-down instead.
i finnaly got it to ballance!
I just tried the balancing eagle. It got too small to fold and it looked like a piece of trash when it was finished. You should make a video!
